Risk Evaluation Questionnaire (REQ) Available for Review

The Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) has announced that the Risk Evaluation Questionnaire (REQ) is now available online for preview. This year, subject persons can access a PDF version of the REQ ahead of its usual January release. 

Key Points to Note 
  • Availability: The PDF version of the REQ is now accessible on the FIAU website. This early release allows subject persons to review the requirements and prepare in advance. 
  • Excel Version: The Excel version of the REQ will be made available in February, with submissions due in April. Exact submission dates will be announced in due course. 


Earlier Submission Date for Financial Institutions 
This update does not apply to financial institutions submitting their REQ via the License Holder (LH) Portal of the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) since these are due for submission in January 2025 and the respective templates are already available. 


Ongoing Obligations 
Subject persons are reminded to: 
  1. Keep the Subject Person Profile updated on CASPAR throughout the year to ensure all changes are reflected. 
  2. Submit the Business Risk Assessment (BRA) on CASPAR once the annual review has been completed.
