Cherise Micallef

Summary

Cherise is a Gaming Compliance Consultant forming part of the Gaming Team at BDO Malta. She is responsible for overseeing the process of obtaining gaming licences and providing ongoing support on issues related to compliance and regulation specifically within gaming.  Cherise also acts as a BDO contact person with the relevant authorities such as the MGA. 

Education and Experience

Cherise holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Malta where she majored in Banking & Finance, and Management. Working at a Maltese bank for over 2 years prompted Cherise to advance into compliance. She obtained a Certificate in Anti-Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism before moving to BDO. She first joined BDO’s Risk and Compliance department where she was also handling the firm’s gaming applications.

Cherise then moved to BDO’s Gaming Team where she is responsible for assisting companies through all the stages of obtaining a gaming licence and providing compliance support services to licenced gaming companies. Nowadays, Cherise tries to keep up to date with the national regulatory compliance framework by attending various seminars, conferences and courses.
