1978-1988: Our roots
BDO Malta was founded as John Attard & Co in 1978 by John Attard himself. The firm began operating from its Valletta office in December of that year. Over the years, the firm grew and joined the BDO network of firms in 1988. This marked the start of BDO's brand presence in Malta, which continues to this day.
1992: The firm receives full membership status within the BDO Global Network
The firm became a full BDO member in 1992 and underwent a major rebranding exercise in 1995 which led to the structure evolving in line with market requirements.
2010: BDO adopts a global unified brand identity
In 2010, the BDO brand was further strengthened when all member firms adopted the single global trading name, BDO, and a new visual identity was rolled out. This was a pivotal moment for BDO in Malta.
2013: Mr Mark Attard joins BDO Malta as CEO
In 2013, Mark Attard took over as CEO, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a commitment to driving the firm forward. Under his leadership, the firm has continued to expand its service offerings, attracting new clients, and expanding its presence in Malta. With a focus on innovation and a commitment to provide quality services, Mark has guided the firm through a period of rapid growth, expanding its capabilities and deepening its expertise in key areas of our industry.
2018: BDO Malta moves to new premises in Msida
In 2018, we celebrated our 40th anniversary and moved to a new office in Msida.
2023: Celebrating our 45th anniversary with 100+ people
Together with over 100 team members who strive to service our clients on a daily basis, we are happy to mark our 45th anniversary, while looking back on the milestones we have achieved and the clients we have served with pride and satisfaction.
